Blogging for profit can be as simple as setting up a blog and marketing clickbank products, but there’s a little bit more that’s needed to make it work fast…
You can use a free blogging platform like blogger.com or squidoo.com but the most effective blogging platform you can use is a Wordpress site hosted on your own domain.
By using a Wordpress blog hosted on your own domain you retain greater control as to how you would like to design your site as well what kind of content and products you would like to promote.
However when it comes to promoting clickbank products and blogging for profit it’s important that your content be relevant to the products you choose to promote.
Too many times individuals will post content that has very little to do with the products they choose to promote.
The best way to produce content that your visitors will enjoy and point to the clickbank products that provide a way to profit from the information is to think like your market.
But what if you don’t know how your market thinks?
You can visit forums, article directories and industry blogs to get a feel for the kind of information that your target market is looking for and then build your content around that.
Additionally, finding keywords that are receiving a considerable amount of searches every month without too many websites competing for the term can really increase your blogs’ profitability.
It’s important to recognize that if you want to make money with your blog and the products that you choose to promote, it’s worth your while to plan ahead regarding your content, keywords and market research.

Most people who attempt to make money with
their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Often,
bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their
readership will grow and how much money they will
make, and when these expectations are not met the
disappointment can crush the desire to continue
blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into
has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a
profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a
realistic plan and stick with it.
To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that
you will need is a large readership. The higher your
traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you.
However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will
need in order to make a profit isnt easy. As more and
more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a
wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get
attention. You need to be able to market your blog
effectively.
Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts
and almost no time marketing their project. To be
certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to
keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog
search engines like technorati, and once your readers
know that you update frequently they will return to your
site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how
often you update if nobody is reading your page, so dont
skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to
your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a
reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using
some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up
link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in
the blog community, and following other established
modes of winning traffic.
Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a
really great idea for a blog, success is not going to
happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that
blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all
likelihood it will be at least several months before you
are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed
to your blogging project during this initial rough period.
To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will
update and how many readers you want to attract, and
then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.

This is my second article on blogging for profit. In my last article, Blogging For Profit, I discussed how blogging could be used to generate a crazy income. This article is going to concentrate on taking your blog to the next level. I am going to discuss the first FREE technique to direct traffic to your blog, Article Marketing.
Article Sites:After you get your blog up and running and are ready for traffic, the easiest way to generate traffic to your blog is to write articles (much the same way I am doing here). There are literally hundreds of FREE article sites. Some of my favorites are www.goarticles.com, www.ezinearticles.com, www.amazines.com, www.articlesbase.com, and www.articledashborad.com, just to name a few.
Compose: Open up a Microsoft word document (or other publishing software of your choice) on your computer and begin your article. This is an important step, as you will ultimately want to publish your article on several of the article sites above. Having a word document will allow you to copy and paste your article to these sites with great ease. Use correct grammar and spelling. Make your article “looks professional”. By following these minor (and obvious) points, your article becomes much more credible.
Title and Body Of Your Article: Once you find your niche, pick an area of interest where you have some expertise. Put yourself in the position of your reader. What would they be interested in? What concern would they have that you might be able to address? There are a couple of keys to get your article clicked on. You need to come up with a title that would catch your reader’s interest. Again I refer back to the statement that you need to concentrate on finding a concern or solution to a problem and build your title around that concept. Use the keywords (discussed in my previous article) in the title and in the first paragraph. This will help your article move up in the search engines ranking.
The Summary Paragraph: End your article with a hint of mystery. People like to be led to the “next step.” This is where you also have your link back to your blog (more on how to create a “click able link” in my next article). This link is how you get people to visit your blog so it is important that when a person clicks on your link it actually goes to your blog (this is an important step and is often over looked until it is too late).
Finally, the biggest obstacle of blogging is to just get started. Even if you have never written a single thing, start by writing what ever is on your mind and soon you will soon be blogging your way to profits. My next article will address how to add a clickable link to your article. Until then, take a look at a couple of my blogs:
